Advisory only — not an official flood warning service

Flood Sentinel is a machine-learning forecasting engine. The forecasts, uncertainty bands, and alerts it generates are advisory and must not be used as the sole basis for life-safety decisions such as evacuation orders. Official flood warnings are issued by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) and State Emergency Services (SES). Always consult those sources for operational emergency response.

You agree that Flood Sentinel, its operators, and its suppliers make no warranty as to the accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of any forecast or alert, and are not liable for decisions made in reliance on the service.

Accounts and acceptable use

  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials secret.
  • You will not attempt to access another tenant's data.
  • You will not probe, scan, or flood the service with requests beyond the published rate limits.
  • You will not use the service for any purpose that is unlawful in Australia or in the jurisdiction you operate from.

Your data

Station configurations, rainfall thresholds, forecast history, and audit logs for your tenant are stored on infrastructure controlled by the Flood Sentinel operator. See the Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect, how long we keep it, and how to request deletion.

Upstream hydrological data (river levels, rainfall, weather forecasts) is sourced from third parties. Those sources retain their own licence terms — see the Data Attribution page.

Service availability

The Community tier is provided on a best-effort basis with no guaranteed uptime. Paid tiers have availability commitments published in their plan descriptions. The operator reserves the right to schedule maintenance windows and to interrupt service if necessary to protect data integrity or safety.

Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email to the address on your account and on the login page. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
